HealthShare, as a part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, delivers programmes of work for Districts in Te Manawa Taki (Midland region) which spans across the North Island from Gisborne to New Plymouth.  HealthShare also supports the Districts to work together to develop innovative and efficient health services across a diverse and distributed region.  

The Senior Project Manager:  

  • Is accountable for the successful delivery of projects from initiation to production / deployment including rollout and change. 

  • Provides project management subject matter expertise to the wider delivery team. 

The environment that this role operates in is complicated and challenging with a wide range of key business, clinical and IS stakeholders. As such the role holder is expected to be able to effectively influence and persuade at all levels in such an environment so that the appropriate and necessary outcomes are achieved.   

Whilst there is flexibility for the role to be based anywhere in Te Manawa Taki, there is a preference for it to be located in Hamilton.  We operate in a mixed mode; both remote (working from home) and onsite office based.  To engage with a distributed team and stakeholders, will require regular travel (including overnight stays) across Te Manawa Taki region.  

You will have the following:  

  • Bachelor qualification in business or a similar field.

  • Proven experience in delivering transformational projects within a complex environment and featuring both business and technology components.  

  • 10 years’ experience in transformational IT, ability to guide the safety of a project.

  • Established management, personnel, financial, vendor, program and project management skills and experience including program design, implementation, reporting and evaluation to ensure high quality deliverables.  

  • Demonstrated high-level project management and problem-solving skills and related experience with the capacity to successfully manage diverse, complex and competing priorities and meet deadlines.  

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of change management, workforce, and business re-design.

  • High-level conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to foster a culture of learning by exploring creative solutions.

  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with staff at all levels in a clinical setting including prioritisation and time management.  

  • Team leadership experience is preferred.
