About the Role
We are looking for an experienced NZ Registered Physiotherapist to work as a Senior in our Older People’s Health wards (Mana Awhi). This role is based at Auckland City Hospital and is a permanent, full-time position 1FTE (40 hours/week).
This key role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist wanting to develop their leadership capabilities and advance their skills in:
- Implementing evidence-based practice and service development
- Motivating, guiding and developing staff
- Clinical leadership
This role will also see you performing the below duties:
- Manage a clinical caseload while providing day to day coordination and leadership for a small team
- Work collaboratively within an multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and rehabilitation to patients over the age of 65 with a range of diagnoses including but not limited to amputees, orthopaedic fractures and elective surgery, neurological conditions, falls prevention.
- Support equity of health outcomes by incorporating processes into practice that reduce inequities
- Participate in our weekend and on-call roster
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team is made up of passionate and supportive Physiotherapists motivated to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the communities we serve. The Mana Awhi team consists of 13 staff working across 4 rehabilitation wards. Our wider Physiotherapy team consists of 91.2 FTE, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

About you
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- 6+years post-graduate experience including clinical experience working in older persons health rehabilitation
- A flexible, pro-active and can-do approach with experience supporting staff and students
- Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Evidence of establishing and developing working relationships within the wider MDT
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care
