About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Advanced Clinician Physiotherapist/Occupational therapist or Level 4 Registered Nurse to join our Lymphoedema service. This is a permanent, part-time position (up to 0.9FTE). The Te Toka Tumai Lymphoedema service provides specialist assessment and treatment for people of all ages living with lymphoedema. The service aims to minimise the impact of disabilities or personal health issues and works in partnership with clients and their whānau to promote independence and self-management.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Community Allied Health Team is a large multidisciplinary service for adult clients who have physical health and disability needs and live in the Central Auckland region.

The service provides day-to-day clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for clients diagnosed with Lymphoedema or lipoedema. Clinician needs to demonstrate good caseload and waitlist management and the ability to drive key quality improvements and agreed initiatives within the service. Clinician will be working alongside your wider Allied Health/Nursing colleagues using an interdisciplinary model to deliver high quality and effective services.

This role will be mainly based at Greenlane Clinical Centre (GCC) site. The service is primarily delivered in an outpatient clinic. However, we do support clients who are unable to leave the home due to physical limitations in the home setting. The team are committed to the holistic delivery of health services within the Te Toka Tumai community, providing integrated care that is coordinated around the client and their needs.

About you

As the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist or Occupational therapist or Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate and a current nursing expert portfolio (PDRP)
  • 6+ years post-graduate clinical experience
    • For consideration for Advanced Clinician – required 8 years post-graduate experience with minimum 4 years’ experience in Lymphoedema
    • Support for further training in Lymphoedema can be provided to the suitable senior clinicians if no or minimal experience in this area
  • Clean, full New Zealand drivers’ licence
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence-based practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary bicultural environment
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • A flexible, pro-active approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Previous Lymphoedema experience desired (except for consideration for Advanced Clinician – this is required)
