Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist passionate about supporting adults and older people to achieve independence and quality of life? Join our dedicated Adult Rehabilitation and Health of Older People (ARHOP) team based at Middlemore Hospital and make a real difference in your community. If you enjoy variety, new challenges, working in a multicultural setting and being part of an interdisciplinary team then this is the job for you. Working within the ARHOP service you will be a key member of the inter-disciplinary team using your expertise to provide occupationally focused, patient- and whaanau-centred care for older adults requiring rehabilitation, including orthopaedic, neurological, general medical and surgical conditions. You will play a key role in empowering people to reach their goals and live well at home and in their communities.
About the role
As a Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist, you will bring advanced clinical skills and leadership to our interdisciplinary team.
You will also:
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to other Occupational Therapists and Allied Health colleagues
- Lead and participate in quality improvement and service development initiatives
- Support clinical education, supervision, and the development of best practice
- Promote equitable care and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of practice
About you
We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative clinician who demonstrates advanced clinical reasoning, leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current NZ registration with an annual practising certificate
- At least 5 years’ clinical experience, ideally in rehabilitation or working with older people
- Experience in supervision, service development, or quality improvement
- A passion for delivering culturally safe and equitable care
- Full drivers licence
