The Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Endocrinologist to join our dynamic, forward-focused team at Waikato Hospital, one of New Zealand’s largest tertiary hospitals. This permanent 0.75 FTE position offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a department that values clinical excellence, collaborative research, and medical education.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary service committed to delivering equitable, high-quality care across the Midland region.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the ASMS SECA agreement. Benefits include 6 weeks annual leave, CME leave and generous CME allowance, up to 6% superannuation contributions, professional development and wellness support.

About the Service
Join a supportive and collaborative team of five senior Endocrinologists, backed by two skilled clinical nurse specialists.
Our department is accredited for two advanced trainees and offers a broad scope of services, including full-day dynamic testing, consultant-led ward rounds, daily inpatient consults, outpatient clinics, and radioactive iodine therapy.
We also take part in regular Radiology and multidisciplinary team meetings and keep learning fresh with a weekly journal club. It’s a great environment for professional growth and teamwork.

Waikato Hospital, located in Hamilton, is New Zealand’s largest tertiary teaching hospital and the regional hub for the Midland area, serving over 840,000 people. With 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and advanced diagnostic facilities, it provides comprehensive care and is affiliated with the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec. The hospital’s Waiora Campus supports both road and air ambulance services, making it a centre of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
About You
The candidate must have qualifications that would satisfy the requirements for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and must have a driver license.
