About the Role

Seeking an experienced Security Services Manager to lead and optimise the operational performance of Security Services across Te Toka Tumai Auckland.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and compliant security services across multiple hospital campuses and sites, operating 24/7. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across capacity and demand planning, financial performance, risk management, workforce leadership, and continuous improvement.

You will play a critical role in supporting high-quality patient care by ensuring security services are robust, responsive, and aligned to operational and legislative requirements, while leading change to support a sustainable and future-focused service.

Security Services play a vital role in enabling safe hospital environments for patients, whānau, staff, and visitors. This role works closely with clinical and non-clinical leaders, emergency management, and external partners to deliver security services that support operational continuity, safety, and wellbeing.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong operational leadership experience, sound judgement, and the ability to lead teams in complex, high-risk environments.

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience in a related field (e.g. healthcare, nursing, police, security, or service industry)
  • CPI MAPA Advanced Instructor certification
  • Five or more years’ demonstrated leadership success in an operational management role
  • Proven experience delivering people-centred healthcare or security services
  • Experience managing service contracts and financial performance
  • Strong understanding of NZ health sector environments
  • Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and achieving equitable health outcomes
  • Self-starter with a passion to achieve greater results

Desirable:

  • Formal management qualification
  • Experience managing teams through organisational or cultural change
  • Operational management experience within a district or multi-site environment
  • Understanding of CPTED principles and their application in healthcare settings
  • Experience establishing and monitoring quality and performance measures

You will also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, resilience under pressure, sound decision-making in high-risk situations, and the ability to lead, develop, and engage a diverse workforce.
