About The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Research Nurse to join our Critical Care Complex at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau. In this pivotal role, you will facilitate the smooth administration of clinical trials and research projects, ensuring adherence to national and international guidelines while promoting excellence in clinical and culturally safe care.
You will collaborate with a broad range of professionals across the health sector and contribute significantly to the development and delivery of evidence-based care, patient outcomes, and staff education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct multiple clinical research studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ethical guidelines.
- Deliver specialised nursing care and interventions within agreed protocols and clinical pathways.
- Facilitate patient recruitment and follow-up for research studies.
- Support and educate nursing and multidisciplinary staff in research methodologies and protocols.
- Act as a role model for clinical and research excellence within the Critical Care Complex.
- Contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
- Participate in research presentations and disseminate findings locally and nationally.
About You:
- NZ Registered Nurse with current Annual Practicing Certificate
- 3+ years experience in critical care nursing in NZ (post registration)
- Achieved or working towards a relevant post graduate qualification
Preferred:
- Prior experience in clinical research or audit.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Research Practice (GCP) and ethical approval processes.
- Experience in clinical teaching, coaching, and mentoring.
- Competency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Access, and clinical databases.
- Project management or coordination experience.
