Exciting new opportunities are available, to utilise your skills and contribute to making a difference to the Tamariki, and their whaanau in South Auckland. We are currently seeking highly motivated, experienced mental health Registered Nurses with an interest in working with primary and intermediate school children to join our team.
Our new Tamariki team will provide culturally responsive specialist mental health care for Tamariki with mental health and addiction problems. We serve the communities of South Auckland and are developing a Tamariki team that will develop strong links with other specialists in child mental health, primary care partners and schools so we can work in an integrated way. Our main hub is based in East Tamaki however clinicians will work out of various satellite offices throughout our localities.
This opportunity will allow the clinician to be part of the development of this new service from the beginning. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing advice, consultation, assessment, and evidence-based treatment to the tamariki and whaanau presenting with mental health challenges. There will also be opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in this specialised area. Working in this role will include a great deal of liaison work with schools, paediatricians, and other key stakeholders.

Essential:
- NZ Registered Nurse (Mental Health)
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Minimum of 1 year’s post registration experience in Mental Health.
- Full, NZ driver’s licence with no limitations
- Post Grad Certificate in Mental health or equivalent.
- Understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and cultural competencies required in the service
Desirable:
- Understanding of child development.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Previous experience using therapeutic interventions with children.
