We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery Department at Gisborne Hospital. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of surgical specialties including:
- General Surgery
- Bariatric and Upper GI procedures
- Colo-rectal and Vascular Surgery
- Gynaecology, ENT, and Urology

About you
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand (mandatory).
- Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to beginning your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth (mandatory).
- Experience contributing to projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and applying Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings (mandatory).
- An empathetic and professional approach, with strong problem-solving and organisational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience in a surgical setting (desirable).
