About the Role

As a Registered Nurse – Respiratory and Infectious Diseases, you will provide specialist nursing care to patients attending Medical Outpatients, supporting individuals and whānau through assessment, education, treatment and ongoing management of respiratory health conditions. In addition, you will provide cover for our Infectious Diseases team as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialised outpatient setting where you will utilise your clinical expertise, critical thinking and patient-centred approach to deliver high - quality care. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will help patients navigate complex health journeys, promote self - management, and contribute to improved health outcomes for the Hawke's Bay community.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Respiratory Service provides specialist outpatient care to patients with a wide range of respiratory health conditions. The team works collaboratively with medical specialists, nursing staff, allied health professionals and community providers to deliver coordinated, evidence - based care.

Based at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, you will join a supportive and experienced team committed to clinical excellence, innovation and equitable health outcomes.

About you

As a Registered Nurse, you will be an experienced clinician who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and building strong therapeutic relationships.

  • Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • At least three years' recent nursing experience in respiratory settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, sound clinical judgement and the ability to manage complex patient needs.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity and providing culturally safe, patient-centred care.
