About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in Paediatrics, you’ll play an integral role in providing high‑quality, family‑centred nursing care to children and young people. Your day will include undertaking comprehensive assessments, planning and evaluating care, administering treatments, and working closely with whānau to support their child’s wellbeing and recovery.

You’ll use your nursing expertise to deliver safe, effective and culturally responsive care, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to ensuring the best experience for patients and whānau. This is a highly rewarding role for a nurse who thrives in a fast‑paced clinical setting and values working with tamariki of all ages and stages.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Paediatric Service is a supportive and skilled team committed to providing excellent care to children and their whānau within our Children’s Ward. You’ll work alongside dedicated nurses, medical staff and allied health professionals, all focused on delivering holistic, family‑centred care in a collaborative and nurturing environment.

About you

As a Paediatric Registered Nurse, you will bring clinical confidence, compassion and a commitment to partnership with whānau. You will have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to adapt in a busy clinical environment.
  • IV designation (or willingness to complete).
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable health outcomes.

Desired:

  • A current PDRP portfolio.
  • Previous paediatric nursing experience.
