About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing care with a holistic approach which is safe, of the highest quality possible and in accordance with the designated standards of practice. You will also maintain and enhance the professional standards of nursing and further development of nursing within the Surgical Service and participate as an effective member of the wider Surgical Services Team.
Ward 1 Orthopaedics offers an excellent opportunity for Registered Nurses seeking a supportive and rewarding environment. Our ward provides care to a wide range of orthopaedic patients, offering variety and professional growth. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team comprising physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, doctors, and healthcare assistants, with a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Ward 1 is a 34-bed acute and elective orthopaedic unit caring for a wide range of patients including post-operative, palliative, elderly, and those with mobility challenges. Our team is proudly multicultural, bringing together diverse backgrounds and experiences to deliver excellent care.
We provide a structured orientation programme, access to ongoing professional development, and the ability to participate in self-rostering while maintaining safe staffing levels. This role offers the chance to enhance your clinical skills in both acute post-operative care and complex rehabilitation, while being supported by a dedicated and friendly team.

About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will need to demonstrate an ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
- Recent nursing experience within an acute hospital setting e.g. medical, surgical, emergency department or ICU is preferred but not essential to apply
- Experience working in New Zealand healthcare is preferred but not essential to apply
- Good communication and people skills
- Demonstrate an ability to practice in a culturally safe manner
