About the Role

We’re on the hunt for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our General & Vascular Surgery Ward on a fixed-term, part-time basis. Surgical experience is preferred. In this fast-paced and progressive environment, you’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to our patients. You’ll play a key role in supporting advanced surgical interventions and complex wound care with guidance from our experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our General & Vascular Surgery Ward is a 26-bed unit known for delivering excellent surgical care and fostering a collaborative team culture. We are a high-performing, patient-centred team focused on achieving the best outcomes for both patients and staff. About you

You are a Registered Nurse who brings not only clinical competence but a genuine passion for delivering excellent patient care. With surgical nursing experience under your belt, you are confident working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and are comfortable managing complex post-operative care.

You thrive in a collaborative team setting, where clear communication, mutual respect, and shared goals are key. Your adaptability allows you to respond calmly and efficiently in dynamic situations, and you take pride in being dependable, proactive, and solution-focused in your approach.

You are committed to lifelong learning and keen to grow both professionally and personally. Whether it's taking on new challenges, mentoring others, or contributing to service improvements, you’re always looking for ways to make a meaningful difference.
You will also demonstrate:

  • A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Previous surgical nursing experience (preferred)
  • A commitment to best practice, continuous improvement, and patient-centred care
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A kind, empathetic approach that puts the patient and whānau at the heart of everything you do
