About the Role

District Nurses at Te Toka Tumai | Auckland enjoy a varied and autonomous role in the provision of care closer to home, within a multidisciplinary locality-based team.

This role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within the community. The service takes a holistic approach, supporting clients with a wide range of nursing needs while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Key areas of care include:

  • Specialised wound care, including leg ulcer assessment and treatment
  • Support with intravenous medication management
  • Urinary and suprapubic catheter care
  • Continence support
  • Stoma care
  • Injections, including rheumatic fever prophylaxis
  • ACC nursing care
  • Education, advice, and health coaching for clients and whānau
  • A broad range of other community nursing needs, including palliative care

This is a varied and rewarding role suited to nurses who are compassionate, clinically skilled, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people in their community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC
  • A full and clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
