About the role: 

The Discharge Lounge is a very important step in facilitating early, planned discharge with a focus on the family and patient-centred care. The patient journey has been the primary focus of this initiative. As a Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work with patients and their families to facilitate a well-planned discharge.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with acute hospital experience and a thorough understanding of the patient journey and discharge processes. You have to be enthusiastic, proactive, understand the importance of patient flow and the ability to work and communicate with, multi-disciplinary team, patients and their families to enable efficient and effective and safe discharge.

This position is a Core Children's worker under the Children's Act & requires full safety checks completed before any new employee starts

Essential:

• New Zealand Registered Nurse
• Current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Experience in an Acute setting essential
