The Adult Dermatology service, located at Greenlane Clinical Centre in Auckland City, is part of the Adult Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate. We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our skilled team. The Dermatology Department provides a friendly, patient-centred environment, offering a comprehensive range of on-site services and is New Zealand’s largest dermatology service.
Recognised as an international centre of excellence, Auckland DHB is renowned as New Zealand’s largest teaching hospital.
About the Role.
As the Dermatology Nurse, you will provide comprehensive assessment for patients with wide degree of dermatological conditions. Working alongside inpatient teams, you will support patients with complex skin conditions and develop expertise in managing patients receiving phototherapy and biologic therapies for complex dermatological conditions.
In this role you will also
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing local anaesthetic skin surgery procedures including Mohs micrographic surgery and have the opportunity to learn skin biopsy
- Evaluate and contribute to improving clinical outcomes
- Educate patients to support and encourage self-management
- Perform patch testing for skin allergens/sensitivities
- Deliver direct nursing wound care and patient education
The role is Monday to Friday and requires 7am starts from time to time.

About you
To be successful for the role, we are looking for the following:
- NZ registration + current APC
- Experience in skin related conditions and wound care advantageous
- Ability to organise and work in a busy outpatient clinic
- Ideally hold or be working towards post-grad qualification
