Regional Manager - Waitlist Management

- Full time, Fixed term – 12 Months
- You will have the opportunity to support patients to receive timely care by working closely with the planned care key stakeholders across Te Manawa Taki.
- You will work with all districts to achieve the Health Target for planned care with your quality assurance and analytic skills at the fore.
- There will be an expectation to connect and build relationships with regional and district and stakeholders to streamline and establish common processes to lift performance and achieve the health target in the region.

About the Role
As the Regional Manager – Waitlist Management you will:
- Support district planned care teams, engaging with the Regional Planned Care Manager, District Planned Care teams, Operational managers and Clinicians, optimising planned care waitlists for ESPI 2 and ESPI 5.
- Guide and support teams to achieve the health targets and will draw on your experience with change management, service improvement and data analytics to lift performance and outcomes
- Monitor regional and district waitlist reporting, identify exceptions and co-ordinate responses from the districts, liaising with them to ensure data gathered is of the highest quality and accuracy.
- Be the key contact for districts waitlist management supporting them to make improvements and driving performance collaboratively.

About the Team
This role reports to the Regional Programme Manager - Planned Care and alongside a Project Manager supporting data collection and reporting. Planned Care is a priority area for Health New Zealand with health targets the key metric for performance monitoring. There is a wider team supporting achievement of other health targets, including for Shorter Stays in the Emergency Department and Faster Cancer Treatment. All of these programmes have regional managers reporting to the Regional Programme Director for Health and Specialist Service Priorities.
About you
As the Regional Lead for Waitlist Management it is expected that you will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Have a broad knowledge of the health and disability or public service sector and awareness of key health policy directions.
- Have experience in leading or managing a team within Outpatient Clinic settings in a District Secondary or Tertiary Hospital
- Have experience in setting up new systems and processes to support improved efficiencies, performance and outcomes
- Have experience in leading a team and/or motivating staff.
- A qualification in project management, change management or service improvement would be an advantage
