  • May also involve travel to provide cover for Bay of Islands and Kaitaia Hospital when required

About the Role

The Radiology Department Assistant role is to support the Medical Imaging Technologists, Sonographers and Administrative Team with the care of patients undergoing radiological examinations including X-Ray, MRI, Ultrasound and CT examinations. It is a varied role with a focus on high quality patient care, team work, and clinical administrative & clerical duties.

As part of this position, you will be working closely with patients from areas such as Emergency Department, ICU and in-patient areas. This is quite an active role, therefore, you will require a reasonable fitness level.

The work patterns are usually working Monday to Sunday. The successful applicant will be required to work a variety of shifts to meet service demands.

About you

There is a need for the successful candidate to be self-motivated and be able to multi-task, have excellent communication skills, work well in a team environment and have a friendly, outgoing and professional personality. Previous experience within a healthcare environment is desirable.

  • Secondary school education to Level 2/Year 12
  • General computer skills
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide assistance to patients to meet their comfort and safety needs
  • Function as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team
