About the Role

Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic champion of quality and clinical governance to join our Health Quality & Safety Service (HQSS) team. This is an exciting permanent position where you will play a pivotal role in embedding a connected and collaborative clinical governance framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the implementation of a robust clinical governance framework in Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty aligned with the aspirations of the Te Manawa Taki region.
  • Support and supervise Quality Coordinators to empower clinical services in the investigation of incidents, resolution of complaints, and identification of risk.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and emerging risks, and make these transparent and visible.
  • Synthesise quality, safety, and risk information to promote an “All one team” approach to clinical governance through shared learnings and championing a culture of safety.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of highly experienced clinical and non-clinical staff provide support for the organisation in all matters relating to quality and risk. This includes, but is not limited to conflict resolutions, clinical reviews in adverse events, risk mitigation strategies and clinical governance. We are a fun and social team that support not only the organisation, but also each other. You can be based in either Tauranga or Whakatane and are required to travel between the two on occasion.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be enthusiastic and have a professional approach in all that you do, and enjoy working in a varying, dynamic environment.

  • Hold a postgraduate qualification in a health-related subject, ideally incorporating Clinical Governance and/or Healthcare Management.
  • Experience within a quality and risk focused setting within secondary healthcare.
    Experience in coaching, mentoring, and facilitating shared learnings in a healthcare context.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a passion for empowering and connecting individuals from diverse health backgrounds
