About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a NZ Registered psychologist. Psychologists working in this role will provide individual psychological care to patients who are undergoing cancer treatment to assist their adjustment and improve their wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to work in an inpatient and outpatient setting as well as work on projects, and provide education and supervision to other staff groups, students and psychology colleagues. This is a Permanent Part time role with 0.5fte / 20 Hours per week. We offer flexible working hours and days.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Te Pūriri o Te Ora Regional Cancer and Blood Service, based at Auckland City Hospital, is the leading provider of cancer care in the Auckland region, serving a large and varied population of around 1.7 million people. We have a team of 9 social workers and psychologists. This role is based as Auckland City Hospital.

About you

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • NZ Registered Psychologist (Clinical or General scope), holding a current annual practising certificate or be eligible for registration
  • looking a suitable candidate with Doctoral Degree or master’s plus Diploma of Clinical Psychology or Clinical Health Psychology or equivalent with a minimum 12-month practical experience in clinical psychology in a physical health setting
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Be a great connector of people and ideas
  • Effective time management, flexibility, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • You will also be motivated, collaborative and flexible and able to work both autonomously within a multi team context.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a clear vision and aptitude for the way a psychologist can contribute effectively within this setting.
