About the Role
We are currently looking for doctors with experience/and or an interest in addictions to work in our service. The successful applicant/s will be part of a team comprising 12 psychiatrists within the broader service and will have the support of a range of professionals including nursing, counsellors, psychology within the Addiction service.
Our Mental Health & Addiction Services provides a wide range of specialist services within the Taranaki region which includes New Plymouth City and coastline, and a large rural/lifestyle population in South Taranaki (Stratford/Hawera). There are five distinct services:
- Acute Services - 23 bed Inpatient Unit (15 Adult , 4 Mental Health Services Older People and 4 Intensive Psychiatric Care ), Assessment and Brief Care (Crisis Team) and a Co Response Team
- Adult Mental health - 2 community teams, and other services such as maternal mental health, eating disorders, , early intervention .
- Child and Adolescent mental health services.
- Mental health services for Older people.
- Addiction Services.
