Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waitematā serves the largest district population in NZ, providing health services to a diverse population covering the North Shore, Rodney and West Auckland. We also have services that reach out to Manukau City, Central Auckland and Northland.

We are now seeking an outstanding individual to lead our District’s financial sustainability programme – a pivotal role, at the centre of our organisation’s future. As a trusted partner of the District Leadership Team, you’ll shape the direction and performance of critical initiatives, ensuring informed, timely and strategic decision-making across a broad operational landscape. You’ll provide governance, support and oversight that keeps the programme moving forward, especially in initiatives that span Divisions and Services.

You may also be called on to lead high-priority projects on behalf of the District Leadership Team – an opportunity to directly influence major improvements and innovation across Waitematā.

Your skills:

  • An understanding of the key strategic challenges and opportunities within the public health sector in Aotearoa, particularly in the delivery of equitable health outcomes.
  • Minimum of 3 years senior management experience in a health organisation, with responsibility for project delivery, financial management and budgeting and people leadership.
  • Highly developed analytical and innovative thinking skills, with the ability to provide insightful information and advice that supports executive-level strategic decisions.
