Prevocational Educational Supervisor

We are looking to appoint a Prevocational Educational Supervisor (Intern Supervisor) for Whakatāne Hospital, to help with the supervision of PGY1s/PGY2s at Whakatāne.
In this role you will be required to:
- Required to maintain good standing with, the District, Medical Council and hold a vocational scope of practice.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with up to 10 junior doctors to support them to achieve vocational registration.
- Meet regularly with individual Junior Doctors, to provide Pastoral care and guidance on Professional Development.
- Ensure that SMO Teams are aware of documented run obligations for their area (RP1 & RP2 Forms from Medical Council).
- Provide constructive feedback to Junior Doctors on their progress and professional development.
- Provide accurate and reliable reports to the NZMC on individual Junior Doctors progress toward Vocational Registration.
- Attend one Prevocational Educational Supervisors’ meeting per year.
- Support the Medical Director with advice and guidance on their progress toward Vocational Registration. See NZMC Curriculum Framework for Prevocational Medical Training
To be eligible for this role you will need to be an SMO who is currently employed and working at Whakatāne Hospital. This role attracts an additional 0.1 FTE.
