About the Role
The Porter Service at Whangārei Hospital is a 24/7 service offering a varied and highly interactive role, working closely with both clinical and non-clinical areas across the hospital. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to work alternative shifts to ensure continuity of service delivery.
This role includes assisting with patient transfers as required, under the direction of Duty Managers, to support effective hospital workflow. This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week on a shift roster, though standard hours for this position are Monday to Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm.

About you
We are looking for a reliable, proactive team player with a strong work ethic and a calm, helpful attitude. Comfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced environment, you will need to be physically fit and able to meet the requirements of the role.
Key requirements:
- Current class 1 NZ driver’s licence
- Secondary education
- Experience working in a customer related service
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
