Pharmacist Educator and Advanced Clinician (Tier 2; Designated grade C)

Do you have the skills and experience to step up into Pharmacist Educator and Advanced Clinician role?

  • As a successful candidate you will be a NZ Registered pharmacist with at least 6 years clinical hospital pharmacy experience. You will have a strong background in developing and delivering clinical teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level

About the Role

  • As a Pharmacist Educator, you will be provided with the opportunity to sharpen your skills in coaching and mentoring the pharmacy team and training of other clinicians such as junior doctors.
  • As a Tier 2 Advanced Clinician, you will be required to provide an advanced level of expertise and clinical leadership, actively participate in ward rounds, and optimise medication use for patients in general medicine and subspeciality areas which may include renal, cardiology or haematology.
  • Waitematā is well known for its use of electronic systems; you will be competent at using these and training others.
  • You will be responsible for providing guidance and support and implementing quality improvement initiatives alongside the Pharmacy Team Leads

About you

As a Tier 2 Advanced Clinician and Pharmacist Educator you will need:

  • At least 6 years’ experience as a clinical hospital pharmacist in general medicine including some speciality areas
  • Achieved Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, and enrolled in, or planning to enrol in a Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy or similar.
  • Ability to show leadership in clinical services development with experience in initiating and conducting research and quality improvement initiatives.
  • A solid foundation in clinical teaching, with coaching and mentoring experience.
