About the Role

If so, this newly created Pharmacist Clinical Coach – Cancer and Blood position could be your next exciting step.
Based within New Zealand’s leading Cancer and Blood Service at Te Toka Tumai Auckland, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of clinical pharmacy in oncology. You’ll work alongside new and developing pharmacists to support their clinical education and professional growth—while also contributing to high-quality patient care.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver clinical education, training, and onboarding for pharmacists in the cancer care setting
- Coach and mentor staff using adult learning principles and evidence-based practice
- Support the Rotational Pharmacist Programme and contribute to workforce development
- Carry a clinical caseload during periods of high demand to maintain service continuity
- Collaborate with clinical pharmacy leaders to develop teaching resources, protocols, and clinical guidelines
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and clinical governance
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with medical oncologists, haematologists, nurses, and research staff—providing expert guidance on the safe, effective, and evidence-based use of cancer medicines.

About you
You’re someone who thrives in a collaborative, high-impact environment and is ready to step into an influential role. You will be an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist, committed to furthering yourself and your peers with the ability to role model the Te Toka Tumai values.
You will be:
- A qualified pharmacist with NZ registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Experienced in oncology and/or haematology pharmacy practice
- Skilled in clinical reasoning, medicines management, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Quick to pick up new concepts, with strong attention to detail
- Drive, enthusiasm and initiative with excellent organisational and inter-personal skills are essential
- A confident communicator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and passionate about developing others
- Committed to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and culturally safe practice
Postgraduate clinical or education qualifications and experience in mentoring or teaching are highly desirable.
We offer competitive remuneration commensurate with your skill, experience and qualifications, as per the Auckland Regional Allied/Public Health and Technical SECA.
