About the Role

  • Fellowship in General Otorhinolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery
  • For Otolaryngologists/Head and Neck Surgeons who have completed their training and are seeking to develop advanced skills in General Otolaryngology-HNS. Counties Manukau Health offers a 12-month Fellowship position beginning in July 2026.
  • Counties Manukau is the second largest district in New Zealand (600,000 population) and home to some of the most socioeconomically disadvantaged populations. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide specialised care in a context that will develop your advanced clinical /surgical skills in a multicultural environment.

About the Team/Service/ Location:

You’ll be joining a passionate team of specialists, resident medical officers, nurses, and allied health professionals committed to high-quality ORL-HNS service that spans:

  • Urgent and elective otolaryngological care in 2 locations (Middlemore Hospital and Manukau Health Park)

  • Extensive exposure to various subspecialties including Head and Neck, Paediatrics, Rhinology, Otology, Laryngology, Sialendoscopy, etc.

  • Supervision of residents and students, development of services and initiatives aimed at serving our population.

  •  A collaborative, supportive work environment focused on quality of care.

Counties Manukau is very proud to be a centre of excellence for sialendoscopy and is pioneering in setting this service in New Zealand.

  • must have completed a recognised Otorhinolaryngology-HNS training programme and be registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)

  • must seek experience in high-needs population and health equity
