About the Role

You will be part of a collaborative team within the head and neck service providing high quality care, improving equity and health outcomes for our local population, with a high Māori and Pasifika population.

 

There are opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that will complement the department’s current service.

 

About the Team/Service/ Location

The team is supported by a registrar, a house officer and a clinical speciality nurse and moving forward an additional registered nurse to support. The department is well equipped for all aspects of modern head and neck health care. 

 

We also have close ties with allied health departments, other specialities that we interact with, as well as regional and tertiary services to provide a comprehensive package of care. The department also provides medical education for undergraduate students and postgraduates.

About you

  • Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand and must be a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, or equivalent.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in interacting within a team environment
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • The development and maintenance of links with general practitioners and other surgeons
  • The development and maintenance of Continuing Medical Education (CME)
