About the Role

Are you looking for the next step in your Occupational Therapy career? An exciting and challenging opportunity has opened to grow and extend your neuro assessment and therapy skills at the Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Join our dedicated Allied Health Inpatient Team as a Neurological Occupational Therapist, based in the inpatient rehabilitation ward but also supporting the acute neurological ward. You will work in partnership with the Occupational Therapy Team and wider Allied Health Team, to provide high quality, person-centred neurological rehabilitation. You will bring creative solutions to complex patients. You will support and guide rotational occupational therapists and students and be actively involved in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the neuro and wider OT team, enabling high quality and equitable care for patients and their whānau.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will join a diverse team of acute and subacute Occupational Therapists and rehab clinicians, and be part of a supportive Allied Health team. We value Continued Professional Development, mentoring, supervision and on-going training. You will have access to regular in-service training, special interest working groups, and learning opportunities to develop your clinical, cultural, quality improvement, and leadership skills. The Occupational Therapy Professional Lead will also support your growth and promotes the Occupational Therapy service throughout our hospital.

About you

You will have a current New Zealand Occupational Therapy Registration and APC with a minimum of two years’ experience with clinical skills in the area of inpatient rehabilitation, alongside confidence with processes and practices to maximise therapy and support equitable outcomes for patients. Bring your passion for rehab and capability to lead and drive service improvement for occupational therapy and the wider allied health team.
