About the Role
You will work collaboratively with inpatients, family/whanau and the clinical team to promote engagement in meaningful activities that support recovery, independence and wellbeing.
Conduct assessments focusing on functional abilities, cognitive skills and psychosocial needs.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focussed on life skills, coping strategies, and community reintegration.
Contribute to quality improvement projects.

About the Team/Service/ Location
We are a tight knit inpatient team within the Mental Health and Addictions team based in New Plymouth.

About you
As an Occupational Therapist you will possess
- Degree qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration
- Experience or a strong interest in mental health (inpatient experience is desirable)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to trauma-informed, recovery orientated and culturally safe care
