About the Role
We are seeking an Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) House Officer to join our Obstetrics & Gynaecology department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. The 2027 training year commences on 18 January, and mid-year starts on 19 July.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of clinical settings. Which includes acute obstetrics and gynaecology as well as opportunity in Women’s Outpatients, the Operating Theatre, Emergency Department, and the Early Pregnancy Clinic. This broad experience will allow you to develop a well-rounded skill set in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The successful candidate would join a team of 8 House Officers, you will have the full support of 8 Specialist Consultants and work closely with 8 Registrars.
Our hospital supports around 2,000 births annually and features a Level 2+ Special Care Baby Unit. Join our team and play a role in shaping women's health, additionally, you'll have the opportunity to sit for the O&G Diploma, further enhancing your expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This is a chance to develop both professionally and personally while contributing to the health and well-being of women in our region.

About you
- You’re a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) PGY3, although we will also consider applications from PGY2s for the second half of the training year
- You are registered or eligible for general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
