About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in a senior nursing role in our Anaesthesia Preadmission clinics, as part of an existing Clinical Nurse Specialist team. We are looking for a nurse with previous experience in Anaesthesia Pre-Assessment who is seeking advanced practice in their career plan.
This is a permanent role working 0.8 FTE, Monday to Sunday.
You will provide specialist nursing care and coordination of the elective patients through the anaesthetic preadmission process. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team with close liaison specifically with anaesthesia, surgical services and patient administration services.
There will be strong links to the primary care providers for optimising therapies prior to surgery, and you will be liaising with a number of internal and external agencies to manage follow through on complex patient referrals to other providers. The role also includes preoperative patient assessment, education and instruction.

About you
You will be an expert/senior nurse with relevant clinical experience and have a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or Masters in specialty nursing practice. You will have knowledge within both perioperative and surgical nursing and be keen to develop your career specialising in the preadmission process for patients presenting for surgery.
