Nurse Specialist: – National Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation Service

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative nurse for the role of Nurse Specialist Coordinator for the National Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation Service. The National Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation Service’s aim is to provide a nationally coordinated service to work with local and regional locations/providers to achieve optimum clinical outcomes for patients with intestinal failure (IF). Included in this support is the provision of recommendations to assist clinicians across NZ to manage these patients close to home whenever possible.
This role is varied and challenging and will require a senior nurse with previous experience in a leadership role, with well-grounded clinical practice in the management of patients with intestinal failure and be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
This is a senior nursing position and involves the provision of specialist nursing care and coordination of care to patients. You will provide professional and clinical leadership in the management of patients with intestinal failure.

About you
It is essential that you meet the following criteria:
- Have at least 3-5 years post graduate experience preferably in General Surgery
- Interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and service members
- Maintain safe cultural practice and develop your cultural knowledge
- Have excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills in order to relate to and work with staff and patients at all levels.
- PDRP Proficient or Expert or with a supported pathway
- Specialty knowledge and practice expertise.
- Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice.
- Working towards completion of Masters degree in nursing or health related area
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
The successful applicant will have extensive general surgical nursing experience and be practicing at a senior level preferably with a postgraduate certificate or diploma in speciality nursing practice.
