Nurse Educator - Programme Coordinator

Are you an experienced senior registered nurse (RN) or anaesthetic technician (AT) with a passion for education, quality and excellence? We have an opportunity for an experienced perioperative RN or AT to further their career, focusing on education, training and development within a passionate perioperative educator team.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the professional development of perioperative staff in the Adult and Emergency (Surgical) operating room (OR) department, including teaching on and supporting development of those who are new to OR scrub/circulating roles across the organisation, as well as contributing to hospital wide development and leadership of staff and patient focused initiatives.
While the role provides support to all perioperative departments, you will primarily be based in the Adult and Emergency (Surgical) OR department which provides acute and elective general surgery (including colorectal, breast and hepatobiliary), urology, vascular, orthopaedics, neurosurgery (adults and paediatrics), transplantation (kidney, liver and pancreas - adults and paediatrics) and trauma.
This is a permanent role for working 0.8 FTE, Monday to Sunday .

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Extensive experience as an expert/senior OR scrub/circulate RN or AT
- Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or Masters.
- Advanced knowledge within intraoperative care
- A passion towards education, quality improvement and patient safety
- A commitment to health equity and culturally safe practice
- A sound knowledge of clinical teaching/learning methods
- Well-developed communication and critical thinking skills.
