We have an opportunity for an experienced nurse to further their career, focusing on education, training and development for Adult Surgical & Perioperative Services.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Registered nurse with a passion for education, preferably on a post graduate pathway.
This full time role provides support to all Orthopaedic areas.
The Nurse Educator is responsible for:
- Promoting, facilitating and providing clinical education to maximise health care delivery, enhance patient outcomes, promote clinical excellence and evidenced-based professional nursing practice.
- Professional development of nursing staff in Adult Surgical and Perioperative Services at Te Toka Tumai | Auckland
- Training other disciplines and professional development assessments.
This is a permanent full time (1.0 FTE ) role working predominantly Monday to Friday.

About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
- Advanced clinical expertise in orthopaedic nursing.
- Strong leadership and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Is an expert/senior nurse with relevant Orthopaedic clinical experience and preferably already have or are working towards a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma or Masters in specialty nursing practice.
- A sound knowledge of clinical teaching/learning methods and well-developed communication and critical thinking skills.
- The ability to lead initiatives and work well with multi-disciplinary teams
- Has a current NZ APC and an excellent clinical practice background in Orthopaedic for a minimum of 2 years.
About the Service
The Orthopaedic Service at Te Toka Tumai Auckland provides both acute and elective care to more than 12,000 patients annually. As the major trauma centre for the Auckland region, the service offers a comprehensive range of orthopaedic specialist services and provides exposure to a diverse variety of complex clinical presentations requiring advanced specialist nursing expertise.
