As part of the ongoing development of Oncology, services across North and West Auckland, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to strengthen nursing capability and support safe, high-quality care within our Infusion Services.
This is a pivotal senior nursing role focused on developing and sustaining excellence in Infusion, Haematology, and Oncology nursing practice. As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will prepare nurses for changes in practice, maintain up-to-date clinical resources, and provide expert coaching, education, and professional role modelling.
You will work closely with Local Delivery Oncology (LDO) nurses, senior nursing teams, medical staff, and regional partners to ensure staff maintain required competencies and credentialing -particularly in SACT, cytotoxic handling, and infusion therapies. The role includes a strong clinical component, working at least 50% clinically, ensuring education is grounded in real-world practice.

About you
You are an experienced oncology/infusion nurse with a strong passion for education, quality improvement, and developing others. You are confident working autonomously, adaptable to change, and respected for your clinical expertise and collaborative leadership style.
- Current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate.
- Postgraduate Diploma in specialty nursing practice (including advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning).
- RN Level 4 (or equivalent) with a current portfolio.
- Minimum of five years’ post-registration experience in oncology services.
- Certification and experience in cytotoxic administration and SACT (EviQ trainer status or working towards).
- Demonstrated educator, coach, or leadership experience.
- Strong commitment to person-centred, culturally safe care and reducing inequities for Māori.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and quality improvement skills
