About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and patient-focused Medical Imaging Technologist to undertake formal training in Nuclear Medicine while working within one of New Zealand’s leading tertiary healthcare organisations.

As a Trainee Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will join our highly regarded Nuclear Medicine team and work towards completing the University of Auckland Postgraduate Diploma in Nuclear Medicine. The programme is designed to be completed within two to four years, providing you with the opportunity to develop specialist skills in diagnostic imaging, radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration, patient care, advanced Nuclear Medicine practice and theranostic treatments, including Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT).

Working alongside experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Clinical Specialists, medical staff and Radiology leaders, you will receive support, supervision and practical experience while building a rewarding career in this highly specialised area of medical imaging.

About the Team/Service

The Nuclear Medicine Service sits within Radiology and Clinical Support Services at Te Toka Tumai Auckland. The team provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and theranostic services and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting ongoing learning, development and innovation.

The service is actively involved in advanced therapies, including Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT), and continues to expand its theranostic service offering.

About you

Essential requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB)
• Current Annual Practising Certificate
• Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development

• Sound judgement and personal accountability
• A commitment to continuous improvement and lifelong learning
• Professionalism, integrity and ethical practice
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable:
