About the Role

As a Newborn Hearing Screener you will interact with whānau who have just welcomed a pēpē. You will offer and carry out a valuable screening process assessing newborn pēpē for a potential hearing loss. You will provide positive health care interactions in an empathetic and culturally appropriate way.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will be working with a small team of dedicated Newborn Hearing Screeners and be based on a busy Maternity ward or in community clinics. For more information on living and working in <Auckland> click here

About you

To be considered for this position you will need excellent interpersonal skills and be confident around newborn pēpē and whānau. You will needs excellent written and verbal communication skills. In addition, you will have a driver's licence and be willing and able to complete online study to complete an for NZQA Newborn Hearing Screening Level 3 certificate. Previous experience working with newborns and their whānau is preferred.
 
Full training which includes the use of equipment and administrative procedures will be provided. 
 
Work schedule is 2-4 days a week, and participation in a weekend roster will be required.
