About the Role
We have a 0.5FTE/40 hours per fortnight vacancy for a trained Newborn Hearing Screener to join our the NBHS service.
The role involves working in the maternity service, across inpatient and outpatient settings, providing hearing screening for all newborn babies.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Newborn Hearing Screener team is a small team who work across the Taranaki district ensuring all babies born in the district have access to early hearing screening.

About you
· You will be a trained Newborn Hearing Screener or be undertaking Newborn Hearing Screener Training
· Excellent administrative and computer skills.
· Ability to work under direction, but primarily able to carry out the role independently and with integrity and initiative.
· Competence in handling and caring for newborn babies and working effectively with families/whanau.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy.
· Organisational ability and be able to consistently provide a safe and quality service.
· Knowledge of Tikanga Māori.
