About the Role

Te Whatu Ora Waitematā Laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our friendly Haematology and Blood Bank team on a fixed term, part time basis. Multiskilling in both Haematology and Transfusion is essential, so work experience in both these disciplines will be an advantage.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must be willing to participate in a 24/7 roster working 64 hours per fortnight including weekends and public holidays.

Requirements for this role:

  • Recent experience, within the last year, working or training in a Haematology or Blood Bank laboratory
  • Recent experience performing peripheral blood films and working knowledge of eTraceline and / or IT3000 would be advantageous
  • Full drivers licence
  • NZ residency or NZ citizenship is essential
  • MS Council Registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with a current annual practising certificate, or working towards obtaining an annual practising certificate by December 2024
