About the Role
We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists who are interested in progressing their career. The Specialist Chemical Pathology department encompasses Special Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Trace Metals and Chromatography and provides laboratory services for 3 national programmes (Bowel Screening, Newborn Screening and Antenatal Screening).
This position is fixed term until Dec 2026 and is full time working rostered shifts Monday to Sunday. The role is based primarily in the Biochemical Genetics and Newborn Screening areas but there may also be a requirement to work in other sections of the department.

About you
The department is busy with strict turnaround time and quality requirements. Applicants will need to possess excellent organisational, computer and communication skills and be flexible with working hours.
The role requires a person with a skillset including attention to detail, excellent time management, accuracy and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience with both automated and manual methodologies and specialised techniques would be advantageous.
You must have a current annual practicing certificate and be registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand. For details, visit www.mscouncil.org.nz
