- 1.0 FTE permanent full-time position (80 hours per fortnight)
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic General Medical Imaging Technologist to join our friendly and supportive Radiology team at Taranaki Base Hospital. If you’re someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys working as part of a team, and is committed to delivering high-quality clinical care, this could be the perfect role for you.
In this position, you’ll be working across our general department and participating in our on-call roster, which includes weekends, shift work, and call duties. You’ll need to be confident working independently, able to make sound clinical decisions, and remain calm under pressure. We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for general radiology, excellent communication skills, and a flexible, team-focused approach. This role offers the chance to broaden your skill set in a supportive environment that encourages ongoing development, including opportunities to engage in Preliminary Image Evaluation (PIE).
Looking ahead, our department is preparing to move into a brand-new facility set to open in 2025, equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technologies, including general x-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI.
With additional satellite sites in Hawera, Stratford, and Waitara, you’ll be joining a dynamic team of around 60 staff members, supported by nine experienced Radiologists.
