About the Role

As a Management Accountant, you will work under the direction of the Interim District Finance Lead to provide financial leadership, strategic advice, and analytical support that contributes to improving health outcomes across the region. This is a pivotal role for a motivated finance professional who thrives on collaboration and adding value through insight.

You’ll be responsible for leading management reporting, preparing budgets and forecasts, and supporting strategic business planning and decision-making. You’ll also build strong relationships with service managers and act as a trusted partner in the financial performance of services.

Our dedicated Finance team supports the operational and strategic financial needs of Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay. This is a collaborative and professional team that values continuous improvement and partnership with clinical and service leaders.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or accounting.
  • At least two years of post-tertiary experience in a relevant financial or management accounting role.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with advanced Excel and IT proficiency.
  • Proven ability to think laterally and deliver innovative financial solutions.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
