About the Role

The Waikato Infrastructure team are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Manager to lead and coordinate the Waikato Hospital’s Electrical Maintenance and Data team. This is a challenging and rewarding role with your highly developed technical capabilities put to use on a wide range of technology including; HV & LV reticulation systems, emergency generators, power UPS, load shedding systems, commercial appliances, sterilizers, lighting, heating etc.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety - Exercises leadership and due diligence in Health and Safety. Ensures the successful implementation of Health and Safety strategy and initiatives
  • Service Development - Adapting services to meet customer needs in a changing environment
  • Planning – short-, medium- and long-term resource planning. Develop maintenance strategies.
  • Cost Management - Manage personnel, materials and services budgets.
  • Asset Management - Ensures all work and work practices complies with legislative requirements. Implement Best Maintenance Practice where appropriate.
  • Culture & People Leadership - Leads, nurtures and develops the team to achieve their potential.

About the Team

The electrical trades team forms part of the wider facilities maintenance team of around 33 trades, operations and support personnel.

The facilities maintenance team ensures all hospital buildings, services and critical infrastructure are safe, compliant and fit for purpose at all times.

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Full Electrical Registration (Inspectors Registration highly regarded)
  • New Zealand Practicing Licence
  • At least five years’ experience leading a trades or technical team
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Strong focus on H&SE, quality and continuous improvement
  • Commercial acumen
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience in building services preferably in a health care / hospital environment.
