About the Role

The Laboratory Information Services Team play a vital role in providing day to day support for LabPLUS and Auckland Pathology Services Laboratory Information Systems and the interfaces that link lab systems internally as well as to external regional and national organisation-wide systems.

We are looking for a team player with IT experience to join our Laboratory Information Services team. The primary focus of the role is on support and maintenance of products that integrate with the Laboratory Systems that serve Northland and Te Toka Tumai Auckland

The primary responsibilities are:

  • to plan, analyse, design, implement and support activities that deliver the effective and efficient operation of all Laboratory Systems.
  • to monitor, improve and maintain the operation of the systems to deliver a high level of availability of all Laboratory IT Systems.
  • to support and align laboratory systems to shared services, regionally and nationally
  • to work with regional IT resources to achieve regional solutions

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Laboratory Information Services team play a vital role in providing day to day support for the LabPLUS Laboratory Systems and the interfaces that provide clinical laboratory results internally to Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital, National Women's Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre as well as to external organisation-wide systems. We have a team of 10.5 Laboratory Information Support officers.

About you

You will preferably be familiar and have used Delphic systems or another Laboratory Information System. Experience with Oracle or SQL databases would be an advantage. You will have been exposed to Linux as well as Windows based systems.

You will work well, collaborate and share important knowledge with your fellow team members providing great documentation where required. You will have good problem solving and communications skills and be able to debug issues.

You will be part of our dynamic team that already work well together. You will also work with other IT teams, both regionally and nationally, as well as with scientists and pathologists in the laboratory. You will be able to expand your skills within a dynamic organisation with plenty of challenges.

Your experience in the health industry will be advantageous.
