About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in a supporting role, working with hapū māmā and whānau with young tamariki who are connected to Mental Health and Youth services and supporting them and their whānau to attending Ngā wānanga O Hine Kōpu, Te Ara Ora and Whāia Te Ora.

The role of Kai Hapai will work closely with service providers and community partners to promote, develop, and initiate health promotion activities as well as deliver the necessary resources and services to wāhine hapū and whānau with young tamariki across Northland. Travel across the region is required.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work with whānau and quickly build relationships. You will need a high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to facilitate and teach, coach and mentor others
  • Experience in working / and or participation in Wānanga approach to sharing information
  • A full clean New Zealand drivers’ licence
  • Completed or working toward Health and Wellbeing certificate Level 4 or above

A demonstrated strong commitment to improving Māori health outcomes through uplifting the health of wāhine hapū and māmā are essential.
