About the Role
An opportunity exists for a permanent full time Intensivist or Intensivist/Anaesthetist to join Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty. Although this role is based in Tauranga, the successful candidate will also provide support to Whakatāne Hospital.
About the Team/Service/Location
You will join a department and location that is experiencing growth. The service has nine Registrars. As a team member with a commitment to providing Intensive Care services across the Bay of Plenty you will participate in all aspects of service provision in our Level 2 ICU. Providing a high standard of general intensive care to adults, including complex multi-system life support and transferring to a tertiary provide when outside of the hospital’s capabilities. The unit is capable of providing mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy and invasive cardiovascular monitoring for an indefinite period providing appropriate specialty support is available within the hospital. We also manage critically ill children alongside our Paediatricians until tertiary level paediatric care service is required. Thus providing effective, efficient and professional clinical intensive care/high dependency unit services to all ages on a shared, rostered 24 hour basis including weekends and public holidays.
