About the Role

As the Integrated Care Team (ICT) Women & Children Operational Manager, you will provide senior operational leadership across a large and complex portfolio of Women and Children’s services in Hawke’s Bay. Services include Paediatric, Maternity, Audiology, Child Development services, Oral Health and Haumaru Whānau ( Violence Intervention Programme).

Working in close partnership with clinical leaders, the Group Leadership Team, and wider system partners, you will lead service delivery, workforce, quality, and financial performance across the ICT. This is a pivotal role that balances day ‑ to ‑ day operational oversight with long‑term service planning, modernisation, and equity ‑ driven transformation.

You will lead service and operational change, strengthen clinical governance, and support models of care that enable whānau to receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time - including closer to home and digitally enabled care where appropriate. This is a highly influential role where your leadership will shape outcomes for women, children and their communities both now and into the future.

The Women & Children ICT brings together a wide range of specialist and community ‑ based services, delivered by multidisciplinary teams across Hawke’s Bay. You will lead a large and diverse workforce, working alongside committed clinical leaders who are focused on quality, safety, equity, and continuous improvement.

About you

  • Significant senior operational leadership experience in health or a similarly complex environment
  • Strong capability in workforce leadership, financial management, service planning, and performance delivery
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior clinicians and Heads of Department to deliver safe, high - quality services.
  • Proven ability to lead change and service transformation while maintaining operational stability.
  • A deep understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and culturally safe care.
  • You will be a confident relationship builder who can navigate complexity, balance competing priorities, and lead with clarity, integrity, and purpose.
