About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a sharp, solutions-focused HRIS Analyst who wants to work at the intersection of technology, data, and people. This is a key role supporting the HRIS and Payroll functions that serve one of the largest health workforces in Aotearoa. You’ll be responsible for:
- Extracting and interpreting HR and Payroll data for reporting, planning, audits, and national requirements
- Providing workforce insights to support strategic decision-making
- Managing system improvements, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Working with vendors and internal teams to enhance HRIS functionality
- Championing data quality, digital tools, and process improvements
- Supporting compliance, equity, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations through robust data and systems

About you
- A strong analytical mind and passion for solving problems with data
- Hands-on experience with large-scale Payroll or HRIS systems
- SQL, SSRS and Power BI reporting skills, plus advanced Excel wizardry
- A knack for working across teams and translating technical info into practical insights
- Understanding of data security, digital tools, and system integrations
- A commitment to equity, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and creating culturally safe systems
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of workforce classification systems and HR processes
- Health sector experience or a deep curiosity about how to improve it
- Experience supporting HR/Payroll system upgrades and working with external vendors
