Health Promotion Recruitment and Retention Advisor -Auckland Central- Te Whatu Ora - Waitemata
- Permanent position
- Full-time (1 FTE, 80 hours per fortnight)
- Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend and evenings to attend community events)
- Based in Great South Road, Greenlane
About Us
BreastScreen Auckland Central (BSAC) is part of the Ministry of Health’s free national BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA) Programme. We screen over 20,000 wāhine each year, and we pride ourselves on consistently delivering a positive experience for our clients.
About the Role
In this role you will support, promote and maximize opportunities for eligible women, to participate in the BSA Programme. The role has a particular focus on support for Māori and Pacific women.
You will be required to work alongside organisations and communities that have an existing relationship with those wāhine and their whanau. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with those organisations and supporting them to enable women to get screened.
About You
We are seeking a skilled and experienced candidate for this dynamic role, you will have experience in community engagement and evaluation of health promotion programs and campaigns.
You will also possess well developed communication skills and be able to build relationships effectively with community and professional groups
To be considered for the role, you will need;
- Qualification in Health Science or Health Promotion
- Full clean driving licence.
- Previous health promotion experience
- Existing networks with primary and community health providers
- Have a sound understanding of cultural models care
- Be an interactive team player
